I LOVE lemonade! I mean really LOVE.
So last year when I saw a few flavored lemonade recipes/ideas I had to try them.
When it was my turn to plan a 'girls night' I wanted to serve lemonade, but couldn't decide what kind to make. They all sounded delicious. I didn't want to go overboard making half a dozen pitchers full, so I came up with this idea instead...
a Lemonade Bar
Make regular lemonade and let guest add in whatever flovor combinations they want!
I chose blackberry, cucumber-lime, watermellon,
strawberry, and basil.
Just puree the fruit in a blender, poor in cups, then add a couple spoonfuls of your favorite fruit to your glass of lemonade. (to use the basil- no its not just a garnish- crush the leaf a little and drop it in your glass.)
My favorite was probably the cucumber-lime. Basil was amazing too... okay, you pretty much can't go wrong.
Sooooo delicious and perfect for a hot summer day. Not to mention FUN!
I think I need an excuse for another party.

This is awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait to find a reason for a party so I can have a lemonade bar!

How fun! I love this idea!
ReplyDeleteOk, I found a reason! I'm getting married!! :) I have already asked my fiance about having this at the reception & he's all for it! :)
ReplyDeleteHow long did you leave this out? I don't want the mix ins to go bad.
Thank you! :)
Heather
Heather- I left thr mix-ins out for at least a couple hours and they were still just fine. If your worried about the colors staying nice you can always squeeze a little lemon juice in, but you probably don't need too. If you want to keep them cool you could keep the mix-in bowls/cups on ice or just use small bowls and refil with chilled. Congrats and good luck!
