Not too late to plant your hanging baskets!

I just recently moved to a new state, and now that the house is mostly put together, I wanted to put some flowers in to enjoy for the rest of the season. The best part about waiting this long to plant your floral baskets? You can pretty much get all your flowers on sale. :)

I took these pictures a week ago and the flowers have already noticeably grown! Emily and I learned the hard way that buying cheap dirt is NOT a good idea for your baskets (dirt is dirt, right? WRONG!) I really like to buy the soil made especially for baskets that has a bit of plant food in it already. Makes watering/fertilizing them easy and the plants all grow really well.

This is my favorite basket here.

I put an asparagus fern in the other side (not shown) and because one trailing plant isn't enough, I put this varigated vinca vine on this side. Looks even lovelier now that it's had a week of growth.

So, if you have stalled on planting some flowers or baskets for one reason or another (vacation, $, time, etc.) Never fear, there is still time to plant and enjoy beautiful flower baskets on your patio and most nurseries will be having sales by now.

  1. Your flowers are gorgeous. Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. Consider yourself invited to my next party. I am a new follower.

  2. This is a creative yet subtle way of displaying all your baskets you got from your grandma. I like this idea because different varieties of flowers can be displayed, yet they don't look cluttered.
