Trunk Makeover

Hi! Today we have something special from some talented family of ours, Shaun and Megan.
Take a look at the fabulous makeover they gave this trunk (which, btw, they found at a garage sale for $4).

How did they do that? With a shower curtain!

Yep, folks, some leftover shower curtain fabric and some Mod Podge.

They lathered the Mod Podge onto the trunk, flattened the shower curtain fabric over the truck with a bone folder, and then used an X-acto knife around the edges to expose the brackets and hardware. For extra durable hold, they reapplied the Mod Podge to the top of the fabric around the edges.

AND it only took 2 hours. Now I just need a nice $4 trunk... :)

Thanks for sharing Shaun and Megan!

  2. I have a trunk that looks almost identical to yours... Granted the shape of it is much, much worse. I am working on redoing it now and this was just the motivation that I needed to get my butt in gear and get it finished! Awesome job! It looks wonderful!
