It's almost birthday time at our house!
And everyone who knows me, knows I love a good party. I always think I'll go simple, but in the end it is just too fun to go all-out. And, I must say, it makes my kids so happy. They LOVE their birthdays.
My almost-4-year-old has literally been counting down the days until her Rainbow Birthday Party for months. First Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then Dad's birthday, then Valentine's and now there's nothing standing between her and her birthday but a few little days, and she can hardly contain herself.
"What would you like for your birthday?" people ask her.
Well she hasn't really given much thought into presents (although she did tell my mother that she wanted a button to put on her castle to make it light up and sparkle) but what she does tell everyone is, "I want a rainbow cake, and rainbow cupcakes, and a rainbow banner, and rainbow balloons!"
So, what's a mother to do but deliver.
I've been scheming. Even before the days of Pinterest I would scour the web for inspiration and save it in a folder on my desktop, wishing there was some easy way to save the url with it. Here are some of my favorite ideas I've seen this year:
|Clockwise from top right: Printables from Swanky Press (lots of cute ideas there), cupcakes from SprinkleBakes, pinwheel cookies from The Decorated Cookie, crazy-cute balloon wreath from Hoosier Homemade , Trix Crispies from Cravings of a Lunatic.|
And here is a link to our Rainbow Party Pinterest board for loads more ideas:
So, what am I going to pick???
I really have no idea, but it is go-time, so I'll be needing to make some choices pretty soon.
One thing I know for sure I'll be making are some rainbow taffy kabobs. Too cute!
Naturally, once we've had our party, I'll be sharing all the cuteness with you.
Or failures....I've made some "interesting" cakes before.....
